Eldora Irene Martin, 84, of Crossville, Illinois, died Friday, July 14, 2023, at her home. She was born December 9, 1938, in Posey County, Indiana, the daughter of Vertis and Irene (McRae) Deal. She was married to Vern LeRoy Martin on September 4, 1956, and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2013.
Eldora was a member of the First Baptist Church in Grayville, Illinois. In addition to being a homemaker, her working career included working at Spartan Manufacturing, various roles with the Crossville Schools, and as a hearing-impaired aid through WOVSED. Years ago, she was an active member of the White County CB Club.
Survivors include sons Tim (Debra) Martin of Calvin, Illinois, Ken (Penny) Martin of Crossville, Illinois, Mark (DeAndra) Martin of Grayville, Illinois; daughter Debbie (David) Bradham of Golden Gate, Illinois; brothers Elwood (Laverne) Deal of Evansville, Indiana, Nick (Carol) Deal of Birmingham, Alabama; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and grandson Logan Martin.
Visitation and funeral are Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville, Illinois. Visitation is at 4 pm and funeral is at 6 pm. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville, Illinois, immediately following the funeral service.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville, Illinois, who is in charge of arrangements.
